Local rugby player scores try in Irish rugby team’s win

Creggs’ Jemima Adams Verling crossed the try line as she helped the Clovers overcome Gwalia Lightning 35-31 in the opening round of the Celtic Challenge.
The backrower crossed for the opening score of the second half to help her side lead 21-17 after they trailed 17-14 at half time.
Síofra Hession came off the bench for the Clovers as they produced a strong second half showing to secure an opening round win.
Creagh’s Aoibheann Reilly was part of the Wolfhounds team that beat Edinburgh 34-7.
Reilly started at scrum half as the Wolfhounds opened the defence of their title with a facile win.
Meanwhile, Leo Anic and Andrew Henson have received call ups to the Ireland U-19 squad that will come together for a national camp at the IRFU High Performance Centre in Blanchardstown from December 28-30.
