AIB All-Ireland Junior Club Camogie Championship Final

St. Dominic's were braveness personified during Saturday afternoon's All-Ireland junior club camogie final in Ashbourne, but it wasn't enough to deny Brídíní Óga Glenravel from the Glens of Antrim who won their second All-Ireland title in three years.

John Haughey's side faced a seven-point deficit at half time, but despite enjoying superiority in the second half, they couldn't turn hard-earned possession into scores with the elements in their favour.

Two Niamh Fitzgerald frees put Dominic's 0-2 to 0-1 ahead after seven minutes, but they wouldn't trouble the scoreboard for the remainder of the half, even though their half-back line of Hannah Murray, Lilly Murray and Aimée O'Connor did their best to stem their opponents' rising tide

The Antrim champions, led by captain Torie Edgar, hit 1-7, the goal coming from Molly Woulahan in the 22nd minute after Edgar's attempt for a point from a free cannoned back off the post.

Despite facing a seven-point half-time deficit, St. Dominic's warmed to the task and were helped by Fitzgerald's 36th minute goal from a free and Kaitlin Egan's tour-de-force from midfield.

But eight second-half wides meant that they could get no closer than three points, and Edgar only needed two second-half frees to bring her total to 0-7 for the afternoon to see her side over the line.

Bridíní Óga scorers: Tori Edgar (0-7, six frees), Molly Woulahan (1-0), Sarah Fyfe (0-1).

St. Dominic's scorers: Niamh Fitzgerald (1-3, all frees), Kailtlin Egan (0-1), Lilly Murray (0-1, one free).
