Manchester United have beaten Liverpool 2-1 to move a point behind their rivals in the Premier League table.

Harry Maguire's late header secured their first victory at Anfield since 2016.

Cody Gakpo had levelled for the hosts after Bryan Mbeumo's early opener for United.

Aston Villa won 2-1 away at Tottenham earlier on Saturday.


Athlone Town are celebrating a first-ever domestic double.

Their women's side held off a spirited Bohemians side to win today's FAI Cup final 3-2 at Tallaght Stadium.

It's their second cup win in four years and goes along with the league title they've already won this year.

Ballina Stephanites and Westport will have to do it all over again after a draw in the Mayo Senior Football Final.

Frank Irwin scored a two-pointer with the final kick of the game to send the decider to a replay.

Meanwhile, Kilcoo recorded their 7th Down senior football final win in a row.

They got past Carryduff by 1-17 to 1-11 at Pairc Esler in Newry.

Elsewhere, Sarsfields are the Cork Senior Hurling champions for 2025.

They had too much for Midleton and came out on top in the final by 2-18 to 1-14

Meanwhile, Athy shocked Naas in the Kildare Senior Football Final.

They stopped the five-in-a-row with a 1-17 to 18-point victory in Newbridge.

Earlier, St John's became Antrim hurling champions for the first time since 1973 with a 2-16 to 1-18 victory over Loughgiel.

Max Verstappen goes into this evening's United States Grand Prix in good form as he continues his title challenge.

The Red Bull driver will start on pole in Texas, having already moved to within 55 points of the top of the drivers' standings by winning the sprint race.

Verstappen will share the front row with Lando Norris, who collided with his McLaren teammate and championship leader Oscar Piastri in the event prior to qualifying.
