‘Watch out for her at the Olympics in Paris’

A noted boxing journalist has been very impressed with the progress of Roscommon boxer Aoife O’Rourke, who won her third successive European championship gold medal yesterday (Saturday) in Belgrade, Serbia.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Sunday World sports journalist Sean McGoldrick said that “Aoife O'Rourke is one of Ireland's most consistent and underrated athletes.
“Three European titles on the spin as well as gold medallist at the European Games (in Poland in July 2023).
“Watch out for her at the Olympics in Paris. With a decent draw and decent judging she has the potential to go far,” he said.
