Two people injured after being hit by a horse in Derry

Two people have been injured after they were hit by a horse on a beach in Co Derry.
A man who was struck in the incident in Limavady has serious injuries.
Police were called to Benone Strand at around 10;45am on Sunday alongside the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the coastguard.
The two victims were taken to hospital after receiving medical treatment at the scene.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “The man’s injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.
“Our inquiries are continuing, and we would appeal to those who witnessed the collision and exactly what happened to make contact with us on 101, quoting reference number 509 21/09/25.
“We would also be keen to hear from anyone who may have any mobile or dash-cam footage of this or suspected vehicles that may have been involved.”
A 66-year-old has been arrested in connection with the investigation and has been released on bail.
