Well done to the senior volleyball team on their recent wins against both Coláiste an Eachréidh (2-0) and St. Louis, Kiltimagh (2-1). A great achievement for a great group of lads! Thanks to M. Benson for his support and guidance.

A range of activities took place in the school to celebrate Science Week 2023. One of the highlights for Third Year students was when they visited Dublin Zoo, one of Ireland’s most popular attractions. Students were delighted to visit Dublin Zoo, where they met with a conservation educator. Spanning topics from evolution to sustainability to ecology, secondary school programmes at Dublin Zoo offer a wide range of topics tied to the national curriculum. Students enjoyed learning about conservation work at Dublin Zoo and Ireland in general and were delighted to get out and about in the zoo for some interactive and motivating learning experiences. Big thanks to Ms Daly & Ms McCormack for organising a super day out and to Dublin Zoo for such a memorable day.
Sixth Year Parent/Teacher meetings will take place on Thursday, November 23rd. Looking forward to speaking with parents/guardians on the evening.

TY students recently enjoyed a fantastic day of filming with Lavinia and Susan from Movie Magic. Students created and directed their own scenes using a variety of props, animations and a green screen. Sensational videos were shot around the school grounds and edited to create a magnificent short film. Maith sibh go léir!

Students are reminded to bring in their contribution to the Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal as soon as possible. Team Hope’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal is an annual campaign that delivers gifts straight into the hands of children affected by poverty. Often these shoebox gifts are the only gift that a child will receive at Christmas and the joy that they bring is incredible. Since 2010, with your help, the charity has delivered over 2.1 million Shoebox gifts to Vulnerable Children across the world. Thanks for your continued support.
The TY classes currently have the opportunity to learn more about Road Safety when they participate in the Cycling Safety Programme. In conjunction with Roscommon Sports Partnership, students have been learning useful skills about how to maintain their bikes and cycle safely while surrounded by traffic on the road. Students have been learning how to maintain their bicycles, how to signal direction and how to safely watch out for oncoming cars. Everybody is really enjoying the sessions so far and we know that the students will benefit from this knowledge in the future.
Commiserations to the school debating team who were narrowly defeated by Scoile Mhuire Buncrana last Tuesday, in the first round of the Concern debates. The students face St Louis College next week.
Students across the school community are delighted to get the chance to appreciate traditional Irish music as Trad lessons recently commenced in the college. Big thanks to Bernard Flaherty, Music Generation Roscommon and also to Galway-Roscommon Education and Training Board for their assistance. Students have the opportunity to avail of lessons in a diverse range of musical instruments including fiddle, banjo, tin-whistle, keyboard and button accordion. All enquiries should be directed to the school office if you would like to participate going forward.
