ST. VINCENT DE PAUL THANKS 

Strokestown St. Vincent de Paul Conference wishes to thank most sincerely all those who contributed to their Christmas appeal. The generosity is very much appreciated. GAA AGM 

The AGM of Strokestown GAA Club takes place on Friday, January 30th at 8 p.m. in the Percy French Hotel. All players, coaches, parents and members are encouraged to please attend.

SCDA FORTNIGHTLY DRAW

TABLE QUIZ 

The Strokestown Lourdes Group is holding a Table Quiz in the Percy French Hotel on Friday, January 23rd at 8.30 p.m.. Contribution is €40 for table of 4. Raffle and finger food on the night. All funds raised go the Lourdes Assisted Pilgrimage Fund 2026. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

LATE MRS MARION GILLOOLY 

The death took place recently at Drumderrig Nursing Home, Boyle, of Mrs Marion Gillooly (nee Toolan) of 2 Chapel Street, Elphin, wife of the late Mr Pete Gillooly. A native of Drinane, Strokestown, she was daughter and last surviving member of the family of the late Mr Jim Toolan and of the late Mrs Maggie Toolan. She was a highly respected member of her local community and news of her passing, in her 86th year, was heard of with deep sadness among her relatives, neighbours and many friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mrs Phil Browne (Ballyleague) and Mrs Eileen Shiel (Carniska), brothers-in-law, Jim Browne, Vincent Kelly (Borefield) and Micheal Gillooly (Annaghbeg) and by her sister-in-law, Mrs Kathleen Kelly (Borefield). The Funeral Mass was celebrated a St Patrick's Church, Elphin, and the interment followed in the adjoining Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Michael (Roscommon Town), Mrs Lorraine Kenny (Moore), Mrs Fiona Henry (Ballinvalley, Coolaney), and Peter (Turloughmore); sons-in-law, Liam and Micheal; daughters-in-law, Marie and Anita; grandchildren, Emma, Adrian, Declan, Peter, Saoirse, Michael, Adam, Callum, Aoife, Evan, Kayla, Kai and Amber; brother-in-law, Pete Shiel (Carniska); nephews, nieces and other relatives to whom deepest sympathy is extended.

LATE MRS MADELINE KELLY

 The death took place recently at University Hospital, Limerick, of Mrs Madeline Kelly (nee McDermott) of Crodaun House, Ballincolloo, Bruree, County Limerick, wife of the late Mr Patsy Kelly. A native of Corskeagh, Strokestown, she was daughter of the late Mr Luke McDermott and of the late Mrs Rita McDermott (nee Devaney). She previously operated the Twin Oaks Bed and Breakfast business at Dublin Road, Limerick. News of her passing was heard of with deep regret among her relatives, former neighbours and friends. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, Lough Gur, Bruree, and was followed by a Cremation Service at Shannon Crematorium. She is survived by her children, Gary, Suzanne and Therese; daughter-in-law, Monica; sons-in-law, Micheal and Steven; grandchildren, Eilish (and her husband Declan), Sarah, Paddy and Luke, great-granddaughter, Cliona, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and other relatives to whom deepest sympathy is extended.

PROGRESSIVE 25 

Progressive 25 continues in Kilglass GAA Centre on Tuesdays at 8.30 p.m.. Last week's winners were: joint 1st, John Compton, Margaret Cox, Cathal McHugh, Michael Guckian; 2nd, Denny McGuire; raffle, John Compton. The spring league starts on this Tuesday, January 13th. New players welcome.

KILGLASS GAELS LADIES BONUS BALL 

 This week's Kilglass Ladies Bonus Ball number was 36. Winners Ellie Ann King and Jackie Cox, €50 each.

KILGLASS GAELS LOTTO

 In the Kilglass Gaels Lotto held on January 10th the numbers drawn were: 4, 6, 22, 23, bonus number 5. There was no jackpot winner. There was one Match 3 number winner of €200, Tomas Feeney. Next week's jackpot is €8,800 for four correct numbers, €12,800 for four correct numbers plus bonus number. Next draw takes place in the clubrooms on Saturday, January 17th.

TABLE QUIZ 

A table quiz in aid of the Strokestown branch of the Lourdes Invalid Fund will take place at the Percy French Hotel on Friday, January 23rd at 8.30 pm., €40 per table of 4. Raffle and finger food.

TAI CHI CLASSES 

Tai Chi classes take place on Thursdays from 7 – 8 p.m. at the Community Centre Roosky and will run for six weeks. The exercises are all gentle, entirely at your own pace, no pressure or strain and are suitable for all fitness levels and ages. For more details contact Pat McHale 087 992 5816.

WOMEN'S HEALTH YOGA 

Women's Health Yoga classes return at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 15th. These classes focus on functional movement, using Pilates bands to build strength and focussing on the importance of keeping the pelvic floor strong through exercise and lifestyle changes.
