The next Roscommon Parish youth mass will be at 7 p.m. on this Saturday, February 28th in the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon. This Mass has been especially designed for young people, by young people, and everyone is invited to attend. The theme for our Mass is integrity.
The AGM of St Ciarán’s Community Centre, Castlecoote will be held on Sunday, March 8th at 7 p.m. in the Community Centre. All welcome. Line Dancing continues with Christopher Beirne on Fridays from 6.30 p.m.- 8 p.m.. This is a great way to keep active while having a good laugh and learning a new hobby, €10 per class pay as you go. Pilates with Bonnie continues every Tuesday, 7.30 p.m. to 8.15 p.m.. A great way to unwind after the day. Do you have unwanted clothes, bedlinen you want to get rid of? You can now drop off at Castlecoote Community Centre F42KH66. Please leave in outdoor toilets (green door) if Community Centre is closed.
Roscommon Men’s Choir and the local Castlecoote/Fuerty Choir will be in concert in Fuerty Church on this Friday 27th at 8 p.m.. Tickets, €20 available from Imelda 086 7380118 or any choir member. All proceeds in aid of church restoration.
A nine-day Lenten Novena will be held in the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon on the theme of “Take Heart, Take Courage.” This nine-day Novena, which will run from Friday, March 6th – Saturday, March 14th at 7 p.m. each evening, invites everyone to draw courage from Christ, who walks with us in every moment. Full details of speakers are on the Roscommon/Kilteevan Facebook page, the website www.roscommonkilteevanparish.ie and in the porch of the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon. Everyone is welcome.

On Thursday, February 26th the Irish Heart Foundation’s mobile unit will visit Roscommon Library to provide free blood pressure and pulse checks from 1 p.m. to 5.45 p.m. Contact 090 6637277 or email library@roscommoncoco.ie. Hidden Hearing will also be at the library on the same day from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. offering free earwax checks.
Tickets are on sale now for the Community Challenge, which will take place on March 6th - 5K & 8K – All abilities welcome. The starting point is Roscommon Community Sports Park. Register before February 25th to be entered into a draw for a €100 voucher for Regan’s Gastro Bar & Restaurant.
Preparations are underway for the Roscommon Fleadh, hosted by CCÉ Bhaile Ros Comáin, taking place in Roscommon town from April 3rd–6th. Highlights include: Céilí with the Pipers Cross Céilí Band; inclusive céilí with Rise the Dust; U-18 busking competition; tráth na gceist; historical walking tour; music workshops; session trail featuring top musicians from Roscommon and beyond.
Roscommon–Chartrettes Twinning Committee invites families to travel to Chartrettes, France, from June 26th–29th. Families stay with local French hosts—an ideal way to improve language skills and enjoy cultural exchange.
