The monthly trad night in Mulvihill’s on Sunday June 28th was a great success with Terry McGowan and his 19 top class musicians providing great entertainment for the large crowd present. They also sang some great verses of old-time songs. Members of the audience also rendered a song or two, including Francis Murray, Fr. John McManus, Margaret White, Danny Burke and Junior McLoughlin. A most enjoyable night was had by all. At the Friday Night Club in Mulvihill’s on Friday, June 25th, two birthdays took place, Miriam Gannon and a belated birthday for Tom Byron. There were some great stories with Tom Byron telling all about all the half-crowns he got when he made his First Holy Communion. There was plenty of food on the night provided by Bridie Malone, Mary Gannon, Ena Conry, Celia Mulligan and Martina Callaghan. Miriam thanked Mulvihill’s and all who provided refreshments. A great night was had by family and friends. Here’s wishing Miriam and Tom many more happy birthdays in the years ahead.
