CLEAN-UP FOR NATIONAL SPRING CLEAN 

The newly formed Frenchpark Tidy Towns Team will carry out litter picking clean-ups on Saturday, April 5th, Saturday, April 12th, Saturday, April 19th and Sunday, April 27th from 2-5 p.m.. People should meet at Frenchpark Church. Gloves, hi vis, bags and some litter pickers will be provided. All welcome and help would be greatly appreciated.

BASIC ITALIAN CLASSES 

Basic Italian classes start in the Cornerstone Frenchpark on Friday, April 4th. If interested in learning about the language, contact The Cornerstone on email (frenchparkcornerstone@outlook.com),phone (0949870340) or call in during opening hours.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION 

The children from all five local schools in the parish will be confirmed on this Friday. April 4th. Please remember them all in your prayers for the Holy Spirit to guide them and protect them in their journey in life.

COMMUNITY GAMES 

The Roscommon Community Games U-14 Table Quiz will take place on this Friday, April 4th at the Fr. Flanagan Community Centre in Ballymoe. Douglas Hyde Community Games would like to enter a couple of teams. Contact 086-0783814 for further details.

LATE MR DENIS HURLEY 

The death occurred peacefully of Mr Denis Hurley, Leggatinty, Frenchpark and formerly of Westport and Dublin and Dunmanway, County Cork on Friday, March 22nd last at Roscommon University Hospital. Predeceased by his father, Flor and mother, Molly, he will be sadly missed by his brother, Frank; sister-in-law, Bridget; niece, Louise; her husband, Mark; nephews, Martin and Andrew; grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Following Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 26th last in St. Patrick's Church, Dunmanway, burial took place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

May they rest in peace CHURCH NEWS Masses will be held in Tibohine at 7 p.m. on Tuesday (1st), in Ballinagare at 7 p.m. on Thursday (3rd), in Ballinagare at 7 p.m. on Friday (4th), in Tibohine at 7 p.m. and Ballinagare at 8.30 p.m. on Saturday (5th) and in Ballinagare at 10 a.m. and Fairymount at 11.30 a.m. on Sunday (6th). Visits to the sick and housebound will take place in Fairymount & Tibohine on this Wednesday (2nd) and Frenchpark & Ballinagare on Thursday, April 3rd.

COLLECTION THANKS

 Irish Pilgrimage Trust, who bring young people with special needs to Lourdes would like to thank all the people in the four church areas who contributed so generously to the church gate collection held on the weekend of March 15th and 16th last. The sums from Frenchpark/Ballinagare Church - €230.80; Fairymount Church - €225.00 and Tibohine Church - €103.45 has been handed over to the Trust/ Many thanks for your continued support and a special thank you to the team of collectors in each church area.

SUPPORT GROUP 

Western Alzheimer's Support Group will hold a meeting in The Cornerstone Frenchpark on Monday, April 14th next at 1 p.m.. It is open to carers, family members and anyone with an interest or concerns about Alzheimer's/dementia. If you are caring for a loved one suffering from Alzheimer's or worried about Alzheimer's please come along. Jane Riordan, dementia advisor will be facilitating this meeting.

CLASSES

 LATE MRS NORA SHERLOCK 

The death took place at Ballymote Nursing Unit on March 25th of Mrs Nora Sherlock (nee Gray), Gurteen and formerly of Cluid, Ballymote. She was one of the oldest member of the community at age 98 and was a quiet, unassuming lady and will be sadly missed. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Jimmy, her parents, Denis and Mary Ann Gray, her sister, Maura and brothers, Paddy and Den. Her remains reposed at O'Dowd’s Funeral Home, Gurteen and were removed to St. Patrick's Church for the Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in Gurteen Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Denise; sons, Declan and Desmond; daughter -in-law, Eileen; grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nephews and nieces, extended family and friends to whom deepest sympathy is extended.

LATE MR SEAMUS O’GRADY 

The death took place on March 26th of Mr Seamus O'Grady, Rahoon, Galway and a native of Gurteen. News of his passing was received with great sadness in his native community and beyond and he will be sadly missed. He was pre-deceased by his brother Ciaran. Sincere sympathy to his wife, Bernadette; son, Niall; daughter, Aoife; son -in-law, Stuart and grandson Ruairi; his sister, Kathleen Walsh; aunt Bernadette Leonard and the extended O'Grady and Walsh families and his former colleagues at Galway University. His Funeral was in New Quay, Clare. May Seamus now rest in eternal Peace.

HOLY HOUR 

There will be a holy hour for Lent on Sunday, April 6th from 6 to 7 p.m. in each of the three churches in Gurteen Parish EASTER HARPS The Eastern Harps 50/50 draw held on Monday, March 24th was won by Ciara, Riona and Aodhhan Hannon, Keash who won €532. The club is most grateful for all the support each week to assist with the running of the club.

GURTÉEN CELTIC 

Gurteen Celtic’s jackpot of €2,200 was not won on Tuesday, March 24th - numbers drawn were -2,12, 17, 20 and the €50 went to Helen Mulligan, Emlaghfad. The committee is most grateful for all support.

BINGO 

Bingo is held every Friday at 8 p.m. in Gurteen Hall. Jackpot is at €2,100 and the lotto jackpot is €350.

SYMPATHY 

Sympathy to the Judge family, Battlefield, Culfadda on the recent death of Mary, formerly of Glosh, Carracastle, to her husband, John, sons Paul, Keith and David; step-daughter, Deirdre; step-son, John; sisters and brother and all her relations and friends.

The death took place on Sunday, March 16th of Mr Peter Gillespie, Ballintrillick, father of Carmel Gallager, Gurteen Pharmacy. Sincere sympathy to Carmel, her mother Patricia and family.

 SOCIAL DANCE

TULSK GAA 

The club is hosting The Rossie Ramble Draw on Friday night in The Claddagh Ring Pub, Hendon. Proceeds will go towards lighting, fencing and a walkway surrounding the club's new training pitch. The main prize is return flights to New York for 2 people for Roscommon v New York 2026 as well as a host of other prizes. ROSCOMMON MEN'S CHOIR 

Castleplunkett Development Association is delighted that the Roscommon Men’s Choir will be joined by the wonderful Laura Kearney as a special guest at their upcoming gig in the Trinity Arts Centre, Castlerea on Saturday, April 12th.
