A man in his 40s was arrested by gardaí in Kilkenny city following a public order incident at UPMC Nowlan Park.
The incident occurred on Sunday, following the Leinster club Senior Hurling Championship quarter-final game between Ballyhale Shamrocks and Kilcormac-Killoughey from Offaly.
Gardaí have confirmed that the man was arrested in the Kilkenny sports ground.
In a statement gardai said the man “has since been charged, and is scheduled to appear before the courts at a later date.
“As this is now before the courts, there is no further information available at this time.”
Garda investigations are ongoing.
Ballyhale Shamrocks manager Henry Shefflin was among those to condemn the scenes at the end of his side's win over Kilcormac Killoughey.
A Kilcormac-Killoughey supporter attempted to throw punches at a Ballyhale Shamrocks player after the full-time whistle when Adrian Mullen was tackled.
