A Strokestown man before the local district court for the possession of cannabis had his case adjourned by Judge James Faughnan.

Senan Tighe, 9 Caslin Way, Strokestown, was found in possession of €35 of cannabis at his address on March 13th, 2025.

The court heard evidence that he had previous convictions, one of which was for the sale and supply of drugs.

Judge Faughnan adjourned the case until June 24th.

Fined for failing to have tax

A motorist was fined €250 for failing to have motor tax when his case was heard at Strokestown District Court.

Juan Sido, 13 Dunville Wood, Johnston, Navan, was stopped by Garda Colum Barron on August 25th last on the N61, Clashaganny, Roscommon.

Judge James Faughnan imposed a fine of €250 for no tax.

Community service order imposed

A Longford man, who had 20 previous convictions, has been ordered to carry out 120 hours of community service if found suitable by the probation services.

The case was heard by Judge James Faughnan at Strokestown court. Jason Farrell, with an address at 8 Garvey Close, Longford, was found to be in possession of cannabis on April 25th last at Ballytoohey, Tarmonbarry.

A number of his previous convictions were in relation to drugs. The judge adjourned the matter before the court to May 24th to see if he is suitable for community service. Solicitor Mary Rose McNally appeared for Mr Farrell.
