Cash, vehicles and high value goods seized as part of Garda operation in County Galway

During the course of Garda searches in County €75,000 cash was seized.
As part of an operation targeting organised criminal activity Gardaí carried out searches at a number of premises on Monday, July 8th in County Galway.
The searches were conducted at properties in Tuam and in Moycullen by Gardaí attached to Galway Divisional Crime, Galway Drugs Unit, Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Armed Support Unit and the Garda Dog Unit.
During the course of these searches €75,000 cash, three vehicles (Tiguan jeep, Audi A5 car and a Ford Transit van) as well as a large number of high value goods, including 12 designer watches and multiple electronic devices, were seized.

Two bank accounts, both within and outside this jurisdiction, with cash and cryptocurrency valued in excess of €990,000 were frozen under Money Laundering legislation. One of these accounts held €530,000 worth of crypto currency and the second held €465,000 cash.
No arrests have been made at this time.
"The operation focused on disrupting and dismantling organised criminal groups within the Galway Division remains ongoing," say Gardaí.
