Cllr Frain honoured to have worked with Roscommon Fire Service

Cllr Micheál Frain

Cllr Micheál Frain said it has been an honour to work in Roscommon Fire Service for the past almost three decades.

In a message on social media this evening, the Independent councillor said as of midnight last night, he has retired from his role as station officer in Ballaghaderreen.

“I look back with many fond memories and great pride in the work we have done together in the fire service,” he said. “I would like to acknowledge the dedicated personnel of Ballaghaderreen Fire Station — both those currently serving and those who have since retired. I also hold a special thought for our former colleagues who are no longer with us.

“To my colleagues past and present, thank you sincerely for your support, commitment, and friendship throughout the years. It has been a privilege to work alongside you in service of our community.”

He said he looks forward to welcoming the new station officer to Ballaghaderreen and wishes them every success in their new role.

“I would also like to express my sincere thanks and best wishes to Kevin Taylor as he steps into the role of acting station officer during the interim period.”
