A number of roads in the county remain blocked following yesterday’s storm.

This morning Roscommon County Council advised that the following roads are currently blocked by fallen trees and debris: the L-1616 Termon; the L-6579 Derreenteige; and the L-6540 Marystown The council added that a number of other access roads may be partially blocked but remain accessible. Yesterday there were reports up and down the county of roads being blocked by trees, with the council working to clear roads.

Hundreds of people in the county also remain without power this morning following the passage of Storm Ashley. ESB crews are working to repair the faults.
