The “ever increasing cost of doing business” and strong competition from supermarkets has led a County Roscommon foodstore and deli to announce that it is to close.

The owners of the Arigna Foodstore and Deli in North Roscommon told their customers on social media  that that it was “with a heavy heart we have made the decision to close the shop and deli. This will come as a surprise to you, particularly since we have invested in the business and loved meeting everyone each day. It is a disappointment for us too, but the ever-increasing cost of business, not to mention strong competition from supermarkets, have put us in this position,” said the owners.

“We sincerely want to thank our staff - Ann, Donna, Fiona and Joshua - you were such a joy to work with. And thank you to our customers, you are wonderful people, and hopefully, like us, you will settle into a new routine soon.”
