St. Dominic’s GAA Club has taken the top honours in the Novelty Act at the 2025 All-Ireland Scór Sinsir finals in the TF Royal Theatre, Castlebar this evening (Saturday).

The team of Laura Leonard, Breege Kenny, Tommy Hurley, Stephen Murphy, Anne Gillespie, Noel Dervan, Kathy Dervan and Sylvia Kilcline put huge work into their piece of drama in the hope that their efforts would prove fruitful this weekend.

There is set to be plenty of celebrations tonight for the national Scór champions in Knockcroghery village, the home place of the legendary Jimmy Murray.

Earlier today, the group had received a special send-off from club members.

The club has won numerous All-Ireland Scór Sinsir titles, but it is the first time the Novelty Act participants will return to Knokcroghery, Lecarrow and Rahara as All-Ireland champions.

St. Dominic’s had previously won this title at Scór na nÓg level on two occasions in recent years — 2017 and 2023.

It was a poignant moment when club members received the cup as they remembered the late Eileen Fallon who passed away earlier this year. For decades, Eileen served as a member of the county committee but it was the work she tirelessly undertook in her beloved St. Dominic’s that set her apart.

County Roscommon's other representatives in the finals, the Elphin quiz team of Colm Beirne, Mick Rock and Michael and Conor Gunn, finished sixth in the Scór Tráth na gCeisteanna.
