Extension to woodland trail proposed

Permission is being sought to extend a woodland trail in the county.

The Irish Heritage Trust has applied to Roscommon County Council for permission to extend the existing woodland walk /trails at Farnbeg, Strokestown. 

The proposed works are located within the curtilage of Strokestown Park House.

The application, which is at the initial pre validation stage, also includes the development of outdoor learning zones, the construction of a holistic eco-centre pavilion building, the installation of an exhibit, new car parking facilities, footpaths and the extension of existing bus parking. 

The application was received on September 16th and a decision is expected by November 10th.
