Funeral details announced for Garda Kevin Flatley

The late Garda Kevin Flatley.

Funeral details for 49-year-old Garda Kevin Flatley, who was killed while carrying out a checkpoint in north Dublin on Sunday afternoon, have been published.

Garda Flatley will repose in McNally’s Funeral Home, Balbriggan on Thursday, May 15th from 4p.m. to 7p.m..

Removal will take place on Friday afternoon to S.S. Peter and Paul’s Church in Balbriggan arriving for Funeral Mass at 1.30 p.m..

Garda Flatley will be laid to rest afterwards with full Garda honours in Newcastle Cemetery, Co. Dublin.

Predeceased by his sister Elaine and beloved husband of Úna and loving father of Erin and Aoife. He is very sadly missed by his adoring wife and daughters, parents Michael and Breda, brother John, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

His death notice noted that Garda Flatley was a dedicated member of An Garda Síochána and an avid member and coach of O’Dywers GAA local club.

Garda Flatley’s father is originally from Clooncrim, Ballinlough and it’s understood that he still retains close links with the area.
