IKEA lands in Galway

IKEA has opened its eighth Plan and Order Point in Ireland, located in Galway at Gateway Retail Park.
IKEA Ireland’s newest location is designed to offer unparalleled convenience, choice, and affordability. Set across two commercial levels, the Galway Plan and Order Point features a ground-floor "mini markethall" holding a dedicated range of 250 home furnishing accessories and a curated selection of 25 best-selling furniture lines for immediate takeaway. Additionally, the store showcases 30 displayed home furnishing solutions, including kitchen vignettes, PAX and PLATSA wardrobe setups, living room vignettes, and inspiring roomsets, supported by a digital range presentation.
The site also provides a high-capacity Click & Collect service offering up to 100 pickup slots per day, allowing customers to order any item from the full global IKEA range online and collect it locally free of charge. The store operates on a cashless basis, accepting card and digital payments only.
The opening comes as IKEA Ireland introduces New Lower Prices across hundreds of much-loved products from 27th August, both online and in-store. The move is part of IKEA’s ongoing commitment to making well-designed, functional home furnishings more accessible and affordable, with lower prices now available across everyday essentials and iconic ranges including KALLAX, HEMNES, ALEX, GULLABERG and POÄNG. For customers in Galway and across the West of Ireland, the new Plan and Order Point brings IKEA’s planning expertise closer to home, while New Lower Prices offer even more value across a wide range of IKEA favourites.

The location features 30 displayed home furnishing solutions, including kitchen, wardrobe and living room inspiration, alongside a comprehensive appliance studio and digital range presentation.
IKEA said its commitment to the local economy is further underscored by the recruitment of 13 new co-workers from the Galway area who will support customers in designing their dream homes. Among these, four dedicated IKEA design specialists will provide expert home furnishing advice, guiding customers through the design, delivery and installation of their ideal spaces.
