King House is open for pre-booked events.

Following a recent oil spill, it has been announced that King House will open for the planned concert ‘Kieran Quinn Theme Night at Christmas’ on Saturday night, 13th December in the Main Salon on the first floor.

A limited number of tickets are still available, priced €20, by contacting King House on 087 144 4739. It is understood the historical house is open for pre-booked events  at is the norm at this time of the year. 

However library services will remain closed for ongoing remedial works.

Today’s planned Mobile Library will not operate due to Storm Bram. Otherwise, a mobile library service is operational on Tuesdays from 11am-3pm.

A major spill of kerosene on the grounds of King House in Boyle “following criminal incidents” resulted in the closure of the historic building and the library in late November.

Roscommon County Council confirmed at that time it had engaged the services of specialist environmental contractors to deal with this "significant spill". It also referred the matter to the gardaí for investigation.
