St. Carlo Acutis.

Large crowds turned out at two local churches last weekend to view relics of the teenage saint, St. Carlo Acutis.

The relics of the 15-year-old went on display in Williamstown and Glenamaddy churches over the course of the weekend.

There was a capacity congregation in attendance at Sunday morning mass in St. Therese’s Church, Williamstown on Sunday.

The relics of the young saint, Carlo Acutis, whose short life was outlined by Fr Anthaiah, P.P. in his homily, were present, making it a very solemn and special occasion.

Carlo was born in London and raised in Milan and had great devotion to the Eucharist. He died from leukaemia in 2006 at the age of 15 and was canonised in September 2025.

Some of those present had travelled long distances to be present for what was a most meaningful and special occasion.

All in the huge congregation availed of the opportunity to be blessed individually by the relics.

St. Carlo’s relics had also been in St. Patrick’s Church, Glenamaddy on the previous evening where again large crowds attended.

A small prayer souvenir of the saint was available for everyone to take home, encouraging continued prayer and devotion.
