Late Maureen McGuire played a huge role in Roscommon GAA
Late Mrs Maureen McGuire.
Kilmore GAA Club has called off all club activities until Friday following the sad passing of the club’s former secretary and lifelong supporter, Mrs Maureen McGuire.
Maureen, (née Kenoy) from Feeragh, Kilmore, passed away peacefully on Monday, surrounded by her loving family, in the tender care of the staff of Claddagh Ward, Galway University Hospital.
Kilmore GAA Club said that “Maureen was all her life a great person in our club who spent years as a club officer and also supporting and helping out in the club any way she could.
"We extend our deepest sympathy to Michael, Niamh, Aoife, Ciara, Tommy (Kenoy) and the extended McGuire and Kenoy families. As a mark of respect no activities will take place at the club until Friday.”
Maureen has been described as “a lovely kind woman and full of fun. With Michael by her side she played a hugely supportive role in many young people’s lives especially around Roscommon GAA.”
She is deeply mourned by her heartbroken family, husband, Michael, former chairperson of Roscommon GAA County Board; daughters, Niamh, Aoife and Ciara; sons-in-law, Ger, John and Enda; cherished and adored grandchildren, Fionn, Molly, Naoise, Sean and Neala.
Deeply regretted by her brother, Tommy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of wonderful friends.
Reposing at her family home (N41 H002), on Wednesday, May 22nd from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m.. Funeral Mass on Thursday, May 23rd in St. Brigid’s Church, Dangan (N41 AX27) at 1 p.m.. Maureen will be laid to rest afterwards in Kilmore Cemetery (N41 F293). Two shuttle buses will operate on Wednesday between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m..
Those attending the funeral are advised to park at the following locations: Dangan Community Centre (N41 T6K1) for those approaching from Roosky/Kilglass, Carrick-on-Shannon; Kilmore GAA Pitch (N41 A3E7) for those approaching from all other directions.
