Local Gardaí give crime prevention advice

Local Gardaí were out and about meeting members of the community over the weekend, giving crime prevention advice.

Part of Operation Táirge 2025’s day of action, members of the community policing unit visited stores in Castlerea, Ballaghaderreen, Frenchpark, Tulsk, Strokestown, Elphin, and Boyle. 

Operation Táirge aims to help detect and prevent organised retail crime.

“This operation provided us with a dedicated opportunity for positive, proactive engagement with the communities and to provide crime prevention/security advice to the retailers,” local gardaí said.

They thanked everyone for their participation and their hospitality.
