A man in his 60s accused of sexual assault was sent forward for trial at a recent sitting of the district court in the county.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was served with a book of evidence by State Solicitor for County Roscommon Kieran Madigan, who requested that the accused be sent forward for trial on two counts of sexual assault.
These are alleged to have taken place in a house in the county in 2023.
He was given the standard alibi warning and legal aid was extended to cover one junior and one senior counsel.
Judge James Faughnan then sent the man forward to the next sitting of Roscommon Circuit Court in June.
