Motorist caught travelling 66kph over the speed limit on Roscommon road

The motorist was clocked travelling at 166 miles per hour.
A motorist was arrested after travelling 166 kilometres per hour (kph) in a 100 kph zone on a County Roscommon road in recent days.
Roscommon Roads Policing Unit was carrying out speed checks in Boyle when they detected the offence.
The motorist was stopped where it was ascertained that they were a novice driver. There were no N-plates on the vehicle.
The motorist was subsequently arrested and a court appearance will follow.
