Motorist detected driving at 168kph had positive reading for drugs

An alleged drug driver was detected speeding at 168kph in a 100kph zone by Roscommon gardaí today, Monday.
Members of the Roscommon Roads Policing Unit were performing a routine speed check as part of the May Bank Holiday Weekend Road Safety Operation, when they detected a vehicle travelling at 168kph in a 100kph zone.
A roadside drug test was performed on the driver, and a positive reading for cocaine was returned.
The driver was arrested for these offences and a court date is to follow
