New manager of the Melting Pot, Michael Hutchinson with Noel Garvin who raised €2661 for The Melting Pot as part of ‘Movember Charity Awareness’.

A Roscommon based charity dinner deliver service is to benefit from the kind gesture of a Lecarrow man.

Noel Gavin who works at Coffey’s Bar, Lecarrow decided that for ‘Movember’ this year he wanted to do something a bit out of the ordinary to raise funds for Roscommon charity, The Melting Pot.

“I was chatting with Mattie Carney, who is a driver for Dinner4U, and he told me about the wonderful work they do delivering meals to people throughout Roscommon.

"They offer a really important service for older folk who cannot prepare food for themselves, or those recovering after illness. I decided that I would grow my hair and moustache during November and then shave it all off to raise funds for them,” explained Noel.

“My daughter Amy and Chloe, who works in Coffey’s, were delighted to use the electric shaver on me on December 2nd,” he said.

Noel raised €2661, which will go towards keeping Dinner4U caring and sharing with the people of Roscommon.
