Over €10,000 for Roscommon angling project

The project involves Lake O'Flynn & District Angling Association.

Funding of over €10,000 has been announced for a project in Co Roscommon to improve access for angling.

IFI’s Midland Fisheries Fund has awarded €10,783 to the Lough O’Flynn angling car park project.

The project, which also involves the Lough O’Flynn & District Anglers Association, plans to develop a parking area for fishing boat trailers next to the existing car park.

The new area will provide dedicated safe spaces for boat trailers, and is to be separate from the existing carpark used for the children’s playground.

The Lough O’Flynn amenity area, developed by the Ballinlough Development Association, is the main boat launch point for the lough.

It has a recently-upgraded slipway, mooring, and car park.

The Midland Fisheries Fund provides grants for development works in the Midland Fisheries Group permit area. It is part of IFI’s Habitats and Conservation Scheme.
