Figures for May of this year have revealed that 44.2% of Category-B driving tests were passed at the county’s driving test centre.
This ranked the ninth lowest in pass percentages out of the 58 centres with data available nationwide.
There was a steep drop in pass rates when compared to April when a 62.2% pass rate was reported.
A total of 173 tests were carried out in May, the highest carried out in a month since last November when 213 tests were undertaken.
A further seven were abandoned/not conducted and there was one no-show for the month.
In comparison, the figures show Carrick-on-Shannon had a pass rate of 53.7% out of 213 tests and Athlone a pass rate of 47.5% out of 325 tests.
