Relic of teenage saint to go on display in local churches
St. Carlo Acutis.
A relic of St. Carlo Acutis, the 15-year-old Italian teenager who was canonised in September, will go on display in Williamstown and Glenamaddy churches this weekend.
Fr Anthaiah Pudota, together with the pastoral council members of Williamstown and Glenamaddy churches, are pleased to announce that a first class relic will be on display in both churches this weekend, February 7th -8th.
This will be an opportunity for all parishioners to come along and venerate the relics. People from neighbouring parishes are also warmly invited to attend.
Timetable as follows: On Saturday, February 7th, the relics will be present in St. Patrick’s Church, Glenamaddy for 7 p.m. Mass followed by veneration, public prayer and Eucharistic Adoration until 10 p.m..
On Sunday the relics will be present in St. Therese’s Church, Williamstown for 10.30 a.m. Mass followed by veneration, public prayer and Eucharistic Adoration until 1 p.m..
It is especially hoped children and young people will attend as St Carlo Acutis died at the age of 15 from cancer and is a modern role model for youth.
A small prayer souvenir of St Carlo will be available for everyone to take home, encouraging continued prayer and devotion.
