The award-winning Farming Rathcroghan project will feature on RTÉ’s ‘Ear to the Ground’ on Thursday.

Farming Rathcroghan promotes sustainable farming in the rich archaeological landscape around Rathcroghan, near Tulsk.

Some of the archaeology goes back thousands of years and the farming tradition has existed as long as that.

Rathcroghan is a particularly dense area of archaeology, and its local community recognised that it needed to protect the historical landscape while also protecting the livelihoods of the local farming community.

‘Ear to the Ground’ presenter Stephen Robb speaks to those behind the Farming Rathcroghan project.

The programme will be broadcast tomorrow, Thursday, January 9th at 7 p.m., and repeated on Sunday at 1.10 p.m..

The Farming Rathcroghan Scheme is co-funded by the Govemment of Ireland and the European Union through the EU Just Transition Fund Programme 2021-2027.
