Roscommon Special Olympics Club keep their dream of five alive.

Roscommon Special Olympics Club has retained the bragging rights following the annual football game against Roscommon Gardaí. The derby took place at the Roscommon Community Sports Park.

They will retain the Maire Allen Memorial Cup, named in honour of the founding and much loved member of the club.

The champions said they kept the dream for five alive “but only just”.

“What a wonderful night last night turned out to be, full of excitement, friendship, pride and determination. A super effort on both sides with Roscommon Special Olympics coming out winners following a sudden death penalty kick out,” the victors said on Saturday.
