Roscommon store to close its doors for final time

The EuroGiant store in Monksland will close its doors for the final time at 6 p.m. this evening, Monday.

The closure follows the announcement last month that the owners of the EuroGiant chain has entered liquidation.

EuroGeneral Limited and Bushgrove Limited, which trade as EuroGiant, blamed "rising costs" for the decision.

The discount retailer has 77 stores across the country, including the one at Daneswell Business Park in Monksland and another at the Retail Park in Roscommon Town.

It’s unknown at this stage when the Roscommon Town store will close but it is expected to cease trading in the coming weeks.

EuroGiant employs around 640 staff in Ireland, whose futures are now under threat.
