Sadness as Solstice Choir founder member passes away
The late Joe McElhone.
The passing of a founder member of the Roscommon Solstice Choir is being mourned.
Joe McElhone, Grange, Hillstreet passed away peacefully today, Wednesday, surrounded by his loving family, and in the excellent care of the staff of the Mater Hospital Dublin.
The Solstice Choir Executive, members and former members were among sympathisers who offered their heartfelt condolences to his family.
Mr McElhone will be sadly missed by his wife Pauline, children Denise (Brian), Shane (Fiona), Ruth (Westin), Grace (Alan) and Paul (Mary), adored grandchildren Heather, Aifric, Ryan, Oscar, Matthew, Holly, Ava, Keeva, Max, Willow, Lily, Beau, Tadgh, JP, Jude and Ruby.
He will be fondly remembered by his loving sister Miriam (Joe), and sisters-in-law Trudagh, Monica (Ger), Mary (Joseph), niece, nephews, cousins, extended family, and wide circle of neighbours and loyal friends.
He will repose in Brady’s Funeral Home Elphin on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.. (The family will take a break for 15 minutes at 6 p.m.).
Funeral Mass will take place on Friday in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Aughrim at 11 a.m.. Burial afterwards in Aughrim Cemetery.
