Sporting event postponed as mark of respect following untimely death of young Roscommon man

A popular sporting event in Roscommon Town has been postponed as a mark of respect following the untimely death of CBS Roscommon student, Liam Dunne.

The annual Roscommon Special Olympics v Roscommon gardaí game was due to take place on Friday evening at Roscommon Community Sports Park in Lisnamult but will now be rescheduled.

Members of the Roscommon Special Olympics group are among the many sympathisers who are extending condolences to to the Dunne family.

Liam Dunne, Ballyleague and formerly of Antogher Road, Roscommon Town will be laid to rest on Saturday in St. Coman’s Cemetery, Roscommon following Funeral Mass at the local Sacred Heart Church.
