Lanesboro Triathlon Club’s Two Provinces Triathlon has been selected by Triathlon Ireland to host the 2025 Sprint National Championship.
This prestigious appointment, where Ireland's national sprint champions will be crowned, is a testament to the dedication of the club, supporters, and marshals.
Established in 2010 by Lanesboro Triathlon Club, the Two Provinces Triathlon has earned its place as a long-standing event on the Triathlon Ireland National Series — the nation's premier triathlon league.
The event attracts participants from every region of Ireland and is consistently recognised as one of the best organised and most enjoyable events on the calendar.
Lanesboro Triathlon Club began 15 years ago and has been growing stronger every year. The club was incredibly proud to be named Triathlon Ireland's National Club of the Year in 2019. The club houses a vibrant community of over 150 members, spanning ages eight to 70 plus.
The club is passionate about supporting everyone, regardless of their ability. For those just starting their fitness journey or dreaming of representing Ireland on the world stage, they will find a home with Lanesboro Triathlon Club.
The Two Provinces Triathlon thrives thanks to the phenomenal backing of the Lanesboro, Ballyleague, and Cloontuskert communities. It is their tireless support that transforms this event into a resounding success.
The remarkable mobilisation of up to 200 marshals each year is a testament to their commitment to ensuring a safe and exceptional experience for every athlete. The race's significant progress and expansion are a direct result of the generous and ongoing support from club sponsors.
Additionally, grants and LEADER funding provided by Longford Community Resources Limited have been essential. Without their collective assistance, the event would not have achieved its current level of success
