Roscommon intermediate ladies' football captain, Helena Cummins, said that she was thrilled to finally "break through the semi-final door" at the fifth attempt in the aftermath of Sunday afternoon's thrilling four-point All-Ireland semi-final victory against Westmeath at Kingspan Breffni.

The popular goalkeeper, who made a stunning first-half save, outlined that the key to the side's turnaround in the aftermath of the 22-point defeat in the Connacht final was hard work, adding that she was delighted to be finally going to Croke Park.

"We're absolutely delighted. The girls put in a serious shift. I'm absolutely over the moon to finally break through that semi-final door. We have been there or thereabouts around four times since I came in, and now we're finally going there (to Croke Park).

"In fairness to the group and the management team, we just put our heads down (after the Connacht final). We've worked hard and we got our payout today with that result," she told the Roscommon Herald.
