Brian Hanley names team for crucial showdown with Donegal

Adam Donnelly and his Roscommon team-mates will be looking to secure promotion to Division Two and a league final berth when they face Donegal on Saturday afternoon

Roscommon hurling manager Brian Hanley has revealed his hand ahead of Saturday’s crucial Division Three showdown with Donegal in King & Moffatt Dr. Hyde Park (throw in 2 p.m.).

There is one change to the team that secured a 5-18 to 2-22 win over Fermanagh two weeks ago. Ronan Finn is selected to start at centre forward in place of Cian Bowes.

There are a number of positional changes with Micheál Hussey selected at centre field alongside his Oran clubmate Paddy Fallon. Jason Martin, who lined out in the middle of the park against Fermanagh, is named at corner back.

Fallon scored 0-7 from wing forward against Fermanagh but is named to start in midfield in this crucial encounter. Conor Morris meanwhile has been named at wing forward after playing in midfield last time out.

Roscommon have been handed a boost with Niall Fleming named among the substitutes. The wing forward hasn’t seen game time since being forced off with a thumb injury in his side’s opening round win over Wicklow.

Roscommon are currently top of the table with nine points while Wicklow and Donegal are tied on eight points apiece.

If Wicklow defeat Louth as expected, Roscommon will need to avoid defeat to book a league final spot.

The team that finishes top of the table will enjoy a home league final on the weekend after next.
