Draws made for 2025 local football championships

Caelim Keogh and Niall Daly will be aiming to help Pádraog Pearses retain the Fahey Cup.
Reigning county senior champions Pádraig Pearses have received a tough group following this evening’s draws for the Senior, Intermediate and Junior A Club Championships.
There is a familiar feeling to the groups as the Woodmount based outfit have been pitted against Clann na nGael and St. Dominic’s once more in the Hodson Bay Hotel Group Senior Football Championship.
This time those sides are joined by last year’s semi finalists St. Faithleach’s, who secured a famous quarter final victory over a Clann side that had topped their group.
Meanwhile, there is also a familiar feeling to Group C as last year’s county finalists Roscommon Gaels are once more joined by Oran and Castlerea St. Kevin’s.
Boyle, who were beaten by the Gaels in last year’s quarter final complete the group.
St. Brigid’s have once more been paired with Michael Glaveys and Western Gaels.
Michael Glaveys came agonisingly close to reaching a county final while Western Gaels came through another relegation battle. Those three sides are joined by newly promoted Elphin.
In the Ward Bros. Intermediate Football Championship, last year’s county finalists Strokestown have been joined by 2024 quarter finalists Shannon Gaels, St. Brigid’s B and Kilbride.
Meanwhile, Tulsk, who will be aiming for an immediate return to the top flight, have been pitted against Creggs, a St. Michael’s side who produced a sensational comeback in the relegation final and newly promoted St. Barry’s.
Éire Óg and Fuerty have been drawn together once more as last year’s county semi finalists have been paired with Kilmore and Pádraig Pearses B.
The King and Moffatt Junior A Football Championship sees St. Croan’s start their quest for an immediate return to the Intermediate grade with ties against St. Ronan’s, St. Joseph’s and Boyle B.
Clann na nGael will be aiming to atone for their final defeats in 2023 and ’24. They are paired with St. Aidan’s in a repeat of last year’s quarter final while Strokestown B and Western Gaels B make up the group.
Last year’s semi finalists Ballinameen and Roscommon Gaels B have been pitted together alongside St. Brigid’s C, who won the Junior B crown last year. Kilglass Gaels will also have eyes on progression to the knockout stages.
