The fixtures for next year’s Connacht U-17 and U-20 Football Championships have been released.

Roscommon will open the defence of their provincial minor title with a home game against Sligo, which will be followed by a trip to Galway.

A home game against Mayo will follow before Roscommon travel to Leitrim in Round Four, meaning Shane Moran’s side will have a bye in the final round.

Earlier this year, Roscommon won all four group games before defeated Mayo in the Connacht final at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park, Castlebar.

In the Connacht U-20 Football Championship, a repeat of last year’s provincial final is on the cards in the opening round when Roscommon host Mayo.

A trip to Sligo follows for Cian Smith’s side before Roscommon have a bye in Round Three.

Roscommon’s final two games will be at home to Galway and away to Leitrim.

The top team qualifies for the provincial final, with the second and third-placed teams scheduled to meet in the semi-final.

Dates and times to be confirmed in due course.

Meanwhile, the FBD Connacht League will return in 2026 following a vote at a meeting of the GAA's Central Council last weekend.

The competition, which Roscommon won in 2024, will afford new manager Mark Dowd the opportunity to fine-tune his team's preparations ahead of the Division One Football League.

With the Connacht GAA Air Dome no longer in operation until March, the format of the competition has yet to be decided, although games could still take place on the all-weather outdoor pitches at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Bekan.
