Lennon hails impact of fresh faces ahead of trip to Belfast

Megan McKeon from Boyle kicked the winning score against Offaly, which secured Roscommon's promotion to Division Two.
Roscommon intermediate ladies’ football manager, Ollie Lennon, has hailed the impact of new faces in the panel this season.
Roscommon are already promoted and looking forward to a place in the league decider ahead of their final group game against Antrim in Belfast on Sunday, and Lennon has highlighted how the new players have spearheaded the team’s successful promotion bid.

“We gave debuts to Shauna Fleming (against Down), Anna McGrath (against Louth) and Megan McKeon (against Offaly) during the league, and they all played their part in getting us over the line.
“Megan kicked the winner against Offaly last Sunday, which secured promotion. It was her first couple of minutes at this level for Roscommon and she was able to kick the winning score. That’s the calibre of player that we’ve been able to bring into the squad.
“We’re just delighted with them. They’ve made the squad stronger and given us a few headaches that we don’t mind having in terms of team selection,” he said.
