The blockbuster All-Ireland SFC clash between Mayo and Donegal is heading for a sellout at King and Moffatt Dr. Hyde Park on Sunday week.

Since tickets went on sale a few days ago, close to 10,000 tickets have been snapped up for the eagerly-anticipated showdown that is expected to shape both counties' prospects for the remainder of the championship.

The Hyde's current capacity is just over 20,000, and with tickets in the unreserved seating area on the stand side of the ground already gone, officials are expecting the remaining terrace tickets on the other three sides of the ground to be sold next week.

If the "sold out" sign is erected, it will be the biggest game in Roscommon Town for years, ensuring another economic boost for businesses around the town.

While Donegal have been bringing huge crowds to their games this season as the momentum under Jim McGuinness continues, Mayo are also expected to bring a large following on the back of their superb performance against Tyrone last time out.

While Donegal's last championship visit to the Hyde resulted in a 0-20 to 0-13 victory against Roscommon in 2018, Mayo haven't been beaten in the championship in their "home away from home" since their dramatic 2001 Connacht final defeat against the Rossies.

A big crowd is also expected in the Hyde on Sunday (tomorrow) for the meeting of Offaly and Mayo in the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship Quarter-Final.
