Provincial picture becomes clearer for Four Roads

Conor Coyle will be hoping to lead Four Roads past a Tooreen side who have had their number in recent years.
Following a jam packed weekend of club action, Four Roads now know their Connacht intermediate quarter final opponents.
Four Roads will face Tooreen in the provincial campaign after the now four in a row Mayo champions defeated near neighbours Ballyhaunis 1-21 to 0-22 after extra time with Liam Lavin’s goal proving the crucial score.
Kerril Wade’s men will face a Tooreen side who are aiming to secure a fifth successive Connacht Intermediate title and a sixth title in the last seven hostings of the competition on the weekend of October 26/27.
The winners of that affair will face London champions St. Gabriel’s in the semi final who overpowered Robert Emmets 5-21 to 0-13 on Sunday after Danny Coyne’s four goal haul. The semi final is down for decision on the weekend of November 9/10.
The Connacht Intermediate final will see one of Four Roads, Tooreen or St. Gabriel’s face the Galway intermediate champions on the weekend of November 23/24.
The semi finals of the Galway intermediate hurling championship will take place this Saturday with Kinvara playing Meelick/Eyrecourt and Tynagh/Abbey-Duniry facing Carnmore.
