Roscommon’s Diarmuid Murtagh has been named on the GAA.ie Team of the Week after an impressive showing against Monaghan in the third round of the league campaign.
The St. Faithleach’s clubman kicked 0-12 as Roscommon came from 2-6 to 0-8 behind at half time to prevail by five points.
Murtagh’s haul helped him to become the county’s all time leading scorer as he overtook Dermot Earley in the scoring charts.
Murtagh kicked four two-pointers in the second half as he and Roscommon made wind advantage count to ensure the Rossies sit top of the Division Two league table ahead of Sunday’s trip to Navan.
