A Roscommon footballer has seen a goal he scored shortlisted for TG4’s Goal of the Year.

Strokestown’s Shane McGinley saw his goal against Tyrone in the All Ireland U-20 semi final shortlisted.

His emphatic finish to the top left corner of the net came in Roscommon’s 3-18 to 3-8 defeat to the eventual All Ireland champions.

Conor Glass’ goal against St. Brigid’s in the All Ireland SFC club final has also been shortlisted.
