Six Roscommon LGFA players were honoured in Croke Park after being named on the TG4 Intermediate Team of the Championship.
All Ireland winning captain Helena Cummins, defenders Áine Connaughton, Saoirse Wynne, Ella Thompson, midfielder Abby Curran and key forward Aisling Feely all received their awards at GAA Headquarters.
It is a hectic 24 hours for half of the award winners in particular as on Saturday, Connaughton’s Clann na nGael side line out against a Boyle team containing Aisling Feely and Saoirse Wynne in the county senior LGFA final in Ballyleague.
Back in August, Roscommon were crowned TG4 All Ireland Intermediate champions for the first time since 2005 as they defeated Fermanagh 2-12 to 0-6 in Croke Park.
It was a remarkable turnaround for a Roscommon side who lost to Leitrim by 4-18 to 0-8 in the Connacht intermediate final back in May.
Despite an opening round defeat to Cavan in the All Ireland stages, Roscommon defeated Down, enacted their revenge on Leitrim in the quarter finals and beat Westmeath before powering past Fermanagh in the All Ireland final.
