An All Ireland title is heading back to St. Dominic’s GAA Club
Roscommon success at All Ireland Scór na nÓg finals

St. Dominic's Gemma Casey was crowned All Ireland Scór na nÓg champion after winning the Solo Singing category in Killarney.

Roscommon enjoyed success at the All Ireland Scór na nÓg finals as Gemma Casey from St. Dominic’s GAA Club secured national glory at the INEC in Killarney this evening.

Gemma, who is a very experienced young singer was making her third appearance at the All-Ireland level of Scór na nÓg.

Having won this title in 2024, Gemma was able to continue her club’s proud Scór tradition in Killarney and bring a tenth national title back to Knockcroghery with her beautiful singing of the great Roscommon song, “The Ballad of O’Carolan Country.”

She held off stiff competition from Westmeath’s Darragh Mac Cába, Cork’s Donna Ní Mhuineacháin and Éinín Duggan of Derry.

Pádraig Pearses GAA Club has always embraced and promoted Scór over the decades, and the 2025/2026 season saw its most recent efforts come to rich fruition.

Miriam Darcy has enjoyed a tremendous final year in Scór na nÓg, claiming a first county and subsequent provincial crown in Recitation/Storytelling. Her delivery of “My Darling Sarah” — a self-penned piece — proved popular with the large crowd in attendance.

Miriam was part of the Pádraig Pearses group who competed in the Novelty Act discipline where she will be joined by her clubmates Ailbhe Glynn Desmond and Katie Grenham, Kate Killeen Lyons, Kate Killeen, Aoibhín Seale, Erin Arru and Oisín Murphy.

Their performance of “Mythological Love” left them in firm contention before the title went to St. Mary’s Aghagallon.

In the Tráth na gCeisteanna Boird (Question Time), the county was ably represented by the Kilglass Gaels team of Domhnaill Diffley, Rory Conroy, Daniel Fallon and Oisín Reynolds.

These young men continue their club’s unequalled national record of participation and success in this event.
