Two Roscommon players are leading the way in the scoring charts of this year’s All-Ireland Senior Football Championship.
According to “Gaelic Statsman” on X, captain Diarmuid Murtagh has hit 1-27 during the Rossies’ four championship games, making him the top scorer in this year's championship so far. The St. Faithleach's forward's haul includes a couple of two-pointers and two-point frees, and nine frees.
Stephen Sherlock (Cork) and Conor Turbitt (Armagh) are joint second with 0-27 and 3-18 respectively, but Turbitt will have the chance to take the outright lead when the Ulster champions play Derry in their opening round All-Ireland SFC game on Saturday evening.
Darragh Heneghan is fifth on the scoring charts, but the Michael Glaveys wing-forward tops the charts when it comes to scores from play in this year’s championship, with an incredible 5-6 from open play in his debut championship season.
