Ronan Daly is experienced enough to know that a win over New York won’t define Roscommon’s year.
There was much to like about the way Roscommon handled their business in Gaelic Park. Despite being reduced to 14 players after Daire Cregg’s red card, Roscommon were out of sight by the time the hooter went as they led 5-11 to 1-4 at half time.
From there Roscommon were able to keep the scoreboard ticking over as they romped to victory. Centre back Ronan Daly was content with his side’s display but feels they have areas to improve upon ahead of their trip to Castlebar in two week’s time.
“They gave us plenty of it first 15 minutes but then we kicked in to gear and we had a bit of a lead going in at half time. I know we were down a man but I think we used the conditions in the second half and played well. There is loads to work on. I don’t think that is going to be good enough the next day so we have a lot of work to do.”
